Part 1 Mobile banks are not as they seem
The dynamic development of mobile technologies means that smartphone and tablet applications are becoming an increasingly popular channel for communicating with end customers. They are gradually becoming an integral part of every large company's operations, guaranteeing customers continuous access to services, regardless of location or time.
Customers want to handle their business here and now. Mobile internet allows them to quickly and easily complete many orders without having to visit a physical branch.
Sounds good, but is it really true? That's what we decided to find out.
We set up a mobile account, so why do we need other channels?
We decided to open accounts at eight banks to see if it was possible to open a mobile account through a mobile channel. We found this to be a perfectly reasonable approach. If I want to open an account at a branch, I go to the branch. If I want to open an account on my phone, I reach for my phone.
We examined 8 banks, including:
The study was divided into two main segments. The goal of the first part of the study was to determine how many banks offer the option of opening a personal account solely through a mobile app and what the process looks like.
The second part of the study analyzed the apps of the banks under review. Basic operations were performed using the apps and a review of the features offered by specific apps was conducted.
If you want to create a mobile account, come to us! 🙂
According to the study, providing customers with a mobile app as a tool for setting up an account isn't common at all. This surprised us a bit, because if something has to be mobile, on a cell phone, I want to do it while lying on the sofa with my smartphone, and only using my smartphone.
Nothing could be further from the truth. Most of the banks surveyed want to hear from us, and even see us in person.
Which banks prioritize building relationships through traditional channels? We'll write about that soon.

We will publish the results of our study in future articles. We invite you to follow our blog.
